نوزده سال پیش آزدهادک متوجه شد که جنگ و نزاع، مخالف با طریقه عیش و عشرت است و از سلاطین فارس و بعضی امرای خود ترس داشت، و برای این‌که آن‌ها را از خود راضی کند تا دیگر با او به مخالفت نپردازند و عیش او را تباه نکنند دختر بزرگ خود را به آرتمبارس که یکی از امرای بزرگ بود داد و دختر کوچکش را هم که آمیسیس نام داشت و لقبش ماندانا است به کامبوزیا پادشاه کنونی فارس داد.
