The present book is an attempt to move towards writing a new film theory in the light of Heidegger's views. The presence of fear in human life is as old as his creation. This concept has been the focus of philosophers since ancient Greece. In Martin Heidegger's view, fear is one of the fundamentals of human existence and the creator of existence, which leads to the fear of consciousness. The present book, while presenting these themes and explaining the process of transformation of the phenomenon of fear into the fear of consciousness for Dasein, shows that this process of transformation in the field of cinema art and the context of its expressive changes in the course of history, in the form of a "truth event" in some valuable cinematographic works. , especially manifested in horror cinema. This book basically looks at the film as a kind of thought for the contemporary era and using the opinions of Gilles Deleuze and Daniel Frampton's philosophic theory, it pondered the relationship between film and philosophy and finally explained the film as a work of art. In this way, while examining the grounds of the formation of the critical cinema of horror from a historical perspective, relying on the ideas of Noel Carroll, Cynthia Freeland, and George Ochoa, "evil" and "monster" are presented as the basic elements of horror cinema and in general An attempt has been made to introduce a kind of philosophical system and new film theory.
