This book aims to fill the void of a good, coherent introductory book on the theoretical issues of family photography. This book contains four different essays on topics related to photography and memory. In the first speech, David Bate deals with the special contribution that the invention of photography has had in connection with memory and history, the contribution that photography has made to human memory and culture, and the impact it has had on the formation of individual or collective memory. The second article also follows the link between photography and memory and considers the special importance of personal and family photos in cultural memory, By applying the method of "memory work" with photos, it provides a special method for understanding the social and cultural uses of memory. Patricia Blanco raises questions about the nature of digital photos, their storage medium, and how they are shared, raising doubts about the referential nature of family photos. To answer such doubts, we have referred to the recent writings of Jose Van Dyck, one of the prominent writers in this field. Van Dyck answers basic questions about the nature and location of memory and questions about the production of memory in the digital age and how digitization changes the things that memory is made of.
