Arthur Schopenhauer is an isolated thinker. His philosophy is a kind of philosophy of isolation, which is the result of personal and close contact with the works of the past. He reads the works of philosophers in their own language directly as a translator, interpreter, and commentator. Schopenhauer does not keep himself bound by what each of them says, narrates, or thinks. He, who knows literature and philosophy completely, wants to completely ignore academic interpretations. Schopenhauer, who is a suspicious person, accepts only his own view and judgment. In developing his philosophy, he did not believe that answering the expectations, questions, and emotions that spread in the form of the momentary shadow is a fruitful thing. From the days of his youth, he immediately expressed his distaste for the optimism inherited from the spirit of the Enlightenment. According to Schopenhauer, historical becoming itself is nothing but an always identical and tragic representation of the will to live, a will which itself, alien to any future, is unable to become.
