The Greek epic of Iliad and the Iranian epic of Shah-nameh are two reflecting places where we can compare two Iranian and Greek morales. Through setting two men of Iliad and Shah-nameh together, we can say that the world of Shah-nameh is wider, sunnier and more humane. There is no sign of dispute on a slave girl, division of spoils of war or pulling the corpse of a killed in action, following a chariot. Maybe one can say it is the longest war in the world of literature to prove the right.

دو بازتابگاه كه مي توانيم در آنها روحيه ايراني و يوناني را به مقايسه بگذاريم، يكي حماسة يوناني ايلياد و ديگري حماسة ايراني شاهنامه است. با در كنار هم نهادن دو انسان ايلياد و شاهنامه، به اشاره مي توان گفت كه دنياي شاهنامه بازتر، پرآفتاب تر و انساني تر است. در آن نه از جدال بر سر يك دخترك كنيز و تقسيم غنايم جنگي حرفي در ميان است و نه از كشيدن نعش مقتول جنگي به دنبال ارابه. شايد بتوان گفت كه اين درازترين جنگي است كه در ادبيات جهان بر سر بر كرسي نشاندن حق، از آن ذكري به ميان امده است
